As a Jewelry designer, it's very important to research and draw inspiration.
Jeff and I went to the MET museum; an beautiful place where I can learn about the world without buying a plane ticket. And while we were purchasing our entrance fee, my eyes caught a glimpse of a sign, "China: Through the Looking Glass." I thought I would see the ancient art of Chinese era. But it ended up being way beyond my expectations!
This epic exhibit showcased magnificent pieces of high fashion couture of western designed fashion but influenced by masterworks of Chinese art; film, bronze, porcelain and lacquerware. These costumes embrace a mood of exotic East meet West. Think of it as Alexander McQueen meets the Chinese dynasties.
So for those of you, who are lucky enough to be living in New York City do drop on by! It's an exhibit you don't want to miss.
